Day 2: Couch Potato or Calorie Roaster?
i used the Wii Fit for 40 minutes today.
I started with Yoga and unlocked some new poses. I did:
- Half-Moon (2x)
- Warrior
- Tree (I enjoyed my trainer’s encouragement after this difficult pose)
- Sun Salutation
- tryed and failed at the newly unlocked Standing Knee pose
Then I moved down the list to Stregnth Training, a very weak area for me. In this section I did:
- Single-Leg Extension, was called a Couch Potato and need to get stronger (true!)
- Torso Twists, unlocked higher reps
- Rowing Squat, failed miserabley not even earning a score
On to Aerobic, fun stuff here:
- Hula hoops! (2x and unlocked Super Hoops) I’m a Calorie Roaster!!
- Super Hoops, lots of fun
- Off on a Short Run *pant, pant* better score than yesterday and less painful
- Basic Step (2x) I unlocked Advanced Step
- Advanced Step (2x) Oh what an uncoordinated boob I am!! This one adds side stepping, claps and kicks. 2nd time through I did much better.
Last activity for today was from the Balance Games. I tryed Soccer Heading and failed beyond belief! It’s my instinct to avoid things hitting me in the head so that is not working in by benefit here. I missed almost every ball but somehow took about 8 flying cleats and panda heads to the forehead *ow* I know it’s a game but that just freaks me out lol

Day 1 with Wii Balance Board
The Wii Balance Board is definitely fun and I am tired after my first time using Wii Fit. I gave it 30 min trying a few different activities. I did some easy Yoga to start then some Balance Games. I got brave and tryed some Aerobics, the Hula Hoop is a blast!! Then I went for a short run and was tired
I didn’t love running in place but it was ok, I’m in no shape for real running yet! I laughed as all our Miis ran by or waved. I saw my grandma blow by at one point lol The Basic Step routine was great, it was just my speed for now but I hope it gets harder/faster as I get better. I could only manage one Strength Activity, the Torso Twists, because the rest were just too difficult looking for me at this fitness level.
After Fit I tried Wii Cheer. This confirmed to me just how little coordination I have lol I was slightly fustrated with the loading times and having to get through all the initial instructions. I feel like I was only moving for about 10 out of 30 minutes! Hopefully now that I am beyond all that beginning stuff it will be more playing, less reading. I think my thumb got the most workout pressing A, A, A, A, A!
Day 1 Wii Fit stats: BMI 29.7, weight 174 lbs
