So far so good- Day 3 Raw

Having fun eating raw. I don’t think I  going to do official weigh-ins but after 3 days I have lost 6 lbs. I feel good. I had a Bean Recipe Fail because I thought i could just soak some dryed beans and make a nice salad but it turns out some beans are toxic and can’t be eaten raw and also the beans are still very hard after soaking. Research is key lol  I am thinking about adding canned beans to my diet. They are not raw because they have been heated before canning but I would just rinse and use them without further cooking. I will probably settle somewhere around a 90-95% raw diet. we’ll see. i read anywhere over 75% is good. So far i’ve been 100% but i don’t want to be too strict or obsessive.

ok, on to the menu:

Breakfast
2 bananas

Lunch
Salad: Romaine lettuce with 1/2 avocado & 1 small yellow onion, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and a bit of sea salt.  This salad was unbelievable!!

Dinner
Green Smoothie (spinach, banana, 6 strawberries, water)

Snacks
3 red plums
green grapes
watermelon

Goals for tomorrow: start using the Brita filter (i’m too lazy to fill it!!) Buy ice for smoothies, try Tai Chi video from library before it’s due

2nd Week Weigh In

Things got kinda ugly this week. I was pretty out of control and I am going to, under great protest from some part of me, list the piggy foods I ate this week when no one was looking. Lucky for me I weighed in the same as last Fri so the stats remain: 175/170/130 and I hold on to the 5lb loss. Without further ado, my piggy list:

  • Potato Chips 2x
  • pint of Ben & Jerry’s choco fudge brownie ice cream
  • lasagna
  • chunk of dark chocolate

I had bad headaches all week and I would go off the deep end and eat crap. My self-esteem is in the toilet this week too. Dunno if that’s from the lousy eating or triggering the lack of control/care etc. BUT i am not going be defeted and give up. I am going to do GREAT this week…I want to say GOODBYE to the 170’s for good :)

Week 1 Weigh In

Well, it’s a day early because I just couldn’t wait another day!! I am happy to report that the scale did go down!! Hooray for me!! I lost 4 lbs in my first 6 days of the diet and I must admit I ate everything that wasn’t nailed down yesterday so I was nervous!

new stats: 175/171/135 I am on my way!!!!!!

**Update: I couldn’t resist getting back on the scale this morning so the new stats are : 175/170/135 woot!

Day 1 Low Carb

This is my Official Starting Post. I really should take my measurements and post them here too so hopefully I will get time for that later.  I’ve decided on a modified Atkins plan. On WW I can’t control my sugar and even on Core I have probs, I tend to starve myself then flip out and binge. Can you tell I’ve beenhere before?

Here’s the format I will use for weigh-in stats: Starting Weight/Current Weight/Goal Weight
For today it’s 175/175/130 I don’t know how 130 will suit me but that’s a nice round number to shoot for. I may try to go further or I may find I am comfortable before I get there.

I think today was a smashing success. I started out with 2 hard boiled eggs for breakfast and was immediately bummed because I wanted to have OJ :( I did have my fave DR Brown’s Diet Black Cherry though so that made up for it. A nice fizzy glasss of alizerin crimson chemical cocktail. Anyway – I was rushing about so I didn’t have time or food to prep a good lunch for work. I grabbed the 1 polly-o cheese stick left in the fridge and the unsalted mixed nuts I picked up at target yesterday. I have to post the brand because they are awesome and pretty cheap! I snacked on the nuts all day at work, had the cheesestick when I was hungry and drank Stash Licorice Spice herbal tea. i was happy and I feel good now.

My plan for the weekend… I am roasting chicken legs now and will make a tray of baked shells for the fam to eat tomorrow. I bought the extra big block of mozzarella so I can eat some. I need to hit the produce store and get some good veggies. I do have an avocado that I will eat in the morning with hardboiled eggs – soooo good together! So, now I am having some manzanilla olives and will be too busy running around this evening (kids) to care about eating :) So far so good!!!!!!!!!!
